Casio is about to release the G-Shock GBA-950-1A, GBA-950-2A, and GBA-950-7A watches in Europe. Rumors about the new model began earlier this year, and it has already been launched in Japan.
In countries like the Netherlands, Spain and Germany, you will shortly be able to buy the Casio G-Shock GBA-950 watches at the brand’s online store for €149. There is no indication of an exact release date; they are marked as “coming soon”, with prospective customers invited to sign up for an email notification. It remains to be seen whether or when these three watches could become available in the UK or the US.
The Casio GBA-950 Series watches are marketed as designed for “urban sports”. Features include the ability to use a connected smartphone’s GPS to track your distance, though the watch can track your pace on its own. There is also an Auto Lap function for a set distance and a step counter. Plus, thanks to Bluetooth, you can view your activity history in the Casio Watches smartphone app, and the watches are also compatible with Strava.
Casio’s GBA-950 also offers a stopwatch, a countdown timer and five daily alarms. There is support for dual time zones, with the time shown in analog and again on the digital display, which also shows the date. An LED backlight helps you to read the watch in low lighting, and it is expected to run for around two years. The product page says that the watch’s band features origami engineering for a particularly comfortable fit. Customers can choose between three colors: the GBA-950-1 is black, the GBA-950-2A is purple, and the GBA-950-7A is gray.
