Casio launches new G-Shock watch with color-changing design

Casio has launched a new G-Shock Playful Hearts Series BGA-10 watch in the UK. This Baby-G watch was also recently released in Japan as a shock-resistant model designed for women.

Casio's BGA-10 has four hearts of various sizes on the watch face, with the color of each heart changing daily. This is thanks to a rotating element beneath the face (see below). The second hand is said to represent Cupid's arrow, and when the bezel is removed, a small heart motif is seen on one side of the watch. Casio has launched the white BGA-10-7A in the UK; in Japan, the model is also available in green (BGA-10-3A), pink (BGA-10-4A) and purple (BGA-10-6A).

The model has a resin casing measuring 46.6 x 42.1 x 11.4 mm (~1.8 x 1.7 x 0.4 inches). The time is said to remain accurate to within 20 seconds each month, and the day of the month is also displayed on the right-hand side of the watch face. Plus, the BGA-10 is water resistant to 10 ATM, and the battery is estimated to run for three years.

The Casio G-Shock BGA-10-7A is now available in the UK for £79.90. Whether or when the other three colors could arrive in this market is unclear. Casio has yet to announce any plans to bring this model to other regions like the US or the EU.
