Casio’s upcoming GMW-B5000D-1C has reportedly surfaced in stores ahead of launch. With a red accent ring and DW-5000C inspiration, it continues the full-metal G-Shock legacy with premium specs and fresh detailing.

After months of anticipation following a leaked render earlier this year, the Casio G-Shock GMW-B5000D-1C now appears to be nearing its official release. The new model, which is a part of the full-metal GMW-B5000 series, has already begun appearing in select international watch stores, as reported by Great G-Shock World. A Japan release is likely to happen in June 2025.

The GMW-B5000D-1C is directly inspired by the original DW-5000C, Casio's very first G-Shock from 1983. While the base shape and construction do resemble the GMW-B5000D-1 released in 2018, the new model adds a red accent ring around the inner edge of the metal bezel, and that's a visual cue borrowed from the original DW-5000C. The rest of the watch sticks closely to the established formula: brick-pattern positive LCD display, stainless steel screw-back case, and a solid bracelet.

The GMW-B5000D-1C supports Tough Solar charging, Multi-Band 6 atomic timekeeping, and Bluetooth smartphone sync. There's also a full auto LED Super Illuminator backlight, world time for over 300 cities, stopwatch, countdown timer, and five alarms. With a water resistance rating of 20 ATM (200 meters), it's as durable as any other G-Shock in the full-metal range.

Physically, the watch measures 49.3 x 43.2 x 13 mm and weighs around 167g. The side profile and clasp images (see below) now circulating confirm that it retains the stainless-steel bracelet with solid end links and a heavy-duty clasp, similar to earlier models in the GMW-B5000 series.

This launch follows a previously leaked render that gave fans an early look at the model's design back in March 2025. That initial image had already drawn attention for its subtle homage to the DW-5000C. At the time, many were under the impression that the red ring around the bezel was a direct nod to Casio's original G-Shock, and the official release has now confirmed that lineage.

Casio has not yet confirmed whether the GMW-B5000D-1C will be a limited edition or a permanent addition to the lineup, but given the branding and backstory, it may well be treated as a commemorative model. We will update you with pricing and availability once confirmed.
