Casio has listed two new versions of the AE-1000W digital watch. This series was launched in 2010 and is already available in a range of colors.
Now, Casio has listed the AE-1000W-5AV and the AE-1000W-8AV on its international website. While both have a black resin casing, the former has a beige resin strap with beige/yellow accents, while the latter has a gray resin strap and light blue accents. They are billed as water resistant to 100 m with an estimated battery life of 10 years.
Casio describes the AE-1000W, also known as the AE1000W, as resembling an aircraft cockpit instrument. At the bottom is a large display showing the time, date and weekday. The smallest section at the top indicates which features are active, and below this is a map showing the rough location of your chosen time zone. At the top right is a liquid crystal analog display showing the time in your home city; there are a total of 48 city-based time zones to choose from, with users able to select up to four to switch between.
Other features of the watch include a 1/100-second stopwatch, a countdown timer, five daily alarms and an amber LED backlight. The product page marks the Casio AE-1000W-5AV and AE-1000W-8AV watches as May 2025 releases. However, it is unclear exactly when they will launch and in which countries. As a guide to the price, older models like the black and gold AE-1000W-1A3V have an RRP of $29.95 (curr. $19.99 at Amazon).
