Only a few days have passed since the first Galaxy Watch8 model appeared on the FCC with a slightly larger battery than its predecessor (curr. $199.99 on Amazon). At the same time, Android Authority discovered early details of a new software feature that measures beta-carotene values to determine an antioxidant score.
Now, the same website has spotted a potential redesign for Samsung's next entry-level smartwatch, too. Based on the images below, Samsung has based the look of the Galaxy Watch8 on the Galaxy Watch Ultra, albeit with two hardware buttons rather than three. As a result, the Galaxy Watch8 will be bulkier than the Galaxy Watch7, just as the Galaxy Watch Ultra is when compared to the Galaxy Watch5 Pro.
For the time being, Samsung is expected to deliver the Galaxy Watch8 in two sizes, both codenamed 'Fresh 8'. However, the exact dimensions of either variant have not been leaked yet. Android Authority has also offered insights into the state of Samsung's rumoured third smartwatch release for 2025 as well.
According to the website, a recent One UI 8 Watch Beta build contains references to a Galaxy Watch8 Classic codenamed 'Fresh 8' and not the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2. Instead, it has only found reference images of the existing Galaxy Watch Ultra, which could well live on for another generation. The Galaxy Watch8 Classic resembles Samsung's first 'Ultra' smartwatch too though, albeit with a larger bezel presumably to accommodate a physical mechanism.
