It seems that Samsung could be bringing new health features to market with the introduction of the Galaxy Watch8 later this year. Based on early evidence, Samsung's next smartwatches will support Beta Carotene tracking to deliver a so-called antioxidant score. No charging speed improvements look to be on the cards this year, though.

The successor to last year's Galaxy Watch7 (curr. $199.99 on Amazon) has appeared online in two fresh leaks. To recap, early builds surfaced last month for three unreleased Galaxy Watch models with model numbers SM-L320, SM-L330 and SM-L500 plus their LTE-equipped counterparts.

Based on initial understandings at the time, SM-L320 and SM-L330 are two sizes of the Galaxy Watch8. However, the jury is still out on whether they will be joined by the Galaxy Watch8 Classic or the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2.

Now, the presumed larger Galaxy Watch8 has turned up on the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) with SM-L335F and SM-L335U model numbers. According to the regulatory body's initiial documentation, LTE connectivity will be joined by Bluetooth 5.3 LE, Wi-Fi 4 and an NFC chip for contactless payments. Unfortunately, 10 W wireless charging via Samsung's EP-OOL300 charger returns; the wait for a charging speed upgrade continues for at least another generation.

Meanwhile, Android Authority has got its hands on a leaked version of One UI 8 Watch, screenshots from which we have embedded below. Seemingly, they contains a few hints about what new features Samsung is planning to introduce with the Galaxy Watch8 this summer.

For one, the company's next smartwatch may be capable of measuring beta-carotene values to determining a so-called antioxidant score from 0-100. Based on one of these screenshots, the Galaxy Watch8 cannot determine these values via someone's wrist. Instead, one must place their thumb on the smartwatch's rear sensors. Although more details remain unknown for now, we suspecct they will emerge before Samsung's next Galaxy Unpacked event.
