The Garmin Lily 2 smartwatch is receiving a new beta update: version 8.01. This is the second update for this smartwatch to be released in 2025. It follows the earlier beta version 8.00 update, which was said to bring general stability improvements and Sensor Hub version 34.09.
According to the release notes, beta version 8.01 brings new watch faces to the Garmin Lily 2 smartwatch. It is unclear whether or not these are the same designs that recently arrived for the Lily 2 Active smartwatch. On top of this, the wearable now supports the Device Passcode feature. This tool has been rolling out across the Garmin range since the start of 2025. It allows the user to create a 4-digit pin, ensuring that their watch is secure even when they are not wearing it. When the device is locked, you can still access an active activity or answer a phone call.
There are three additional updates included with this release. They are Sensor Hub version 34.10, GCM Translations version 8.01 and Text Translations version 8.01. As usual, this update should reach users of the Garmin Lily 2 smartwatch (curr. from $199.99 at Amazon) automatically when connected to Garmin Connect Mobile. It is unclear when the company will release a stable version of this update, bringing the new watch faces and passcode feature to all users.
