The Suunto Run watch has leaked at a European retailer, revealing more information about its features and its price. This new wearable seems to be a cheaper alternative to the Suunto Race, which was launched in 2023.
Suunto’s new Run smartwatch appeared in a report from an Australian news outlet a couple of weeks ago. This article confirmed that the wearable would have a 1.32-inch display with a polymer case, stainless steel bezel and Corning Gorilla Glass. It was said to be water-resistant to 5ATM and could weigh between 35 and 45 g (~1.2 to 1.6 oz). Features mentioned were 34 workout modes, support for training plans, local music storage and a dual-band GNSS module. The report also suggested that the model’s battery would run for up to 12 days or 20 hours in GPS mode.
Now, the watch has briefly been listed at MediaMarkt Spain. Reddit user u/GoatInformal9622 shared a screenshot of a product page for the new Suunto Run smartwatch, suggesting that its launch is imminent. This leak confirms that the watch has a 1.32-inch AMOLED display. However, the number of sports modes here is said to be over 90. The listing suggests that the watch can run for up to 20 days; this could be the maximum estimate, with 12 days of battery life expected with typical use. The accompanying image appears to show a velcro strap. Plus, earlier rumors indicate that this model will not have offline maps and could offer a new version of the brand’s firmware.
In Spain, the Suunto Run smartwatch is expected to retail for €249. This makes it cheaper than the basic models of the Suunto Race S and Suunto Race, which are priced at €349 and €399, respectively. The earlier report indicated that the new model would cost AU$599 in Australia. As a rough guide to pricing in the US, the Suunto Race S is currently available for $349 at Amazon.
