Oura has announced that new Meals and Glucose features are rolling out to some users of its smart rings. These metabolic health tracking tools are designed to help you optimize your eating, boost your energy levels or workout performance, or improve your sleep.
The Meals feature was already available for some users to test via Oura Labs, announced when Oura acquired Veri. Meals is now a permanent feature in the Oura app, with a nutrition rather than calorie-based approach to healthy eating. Users can upload a photo, and food items are automatically recognized. You are then served AI-generated feedback on your meal and associated nutritional data, helping you to identify any imbalances.
The Glucose tool is for users with a paired Stelo Glucose Biosensor by Dexcom; the partnership between Oura and Dexcom was announced in November 2024. The glucose chart, which tracks your blood sugar level throughout the day, shows events like meals, stress, movement and sleep. This should help users to understand how their actions impact their glucose levels. You can also see how often your blood sugar level is in the ideal range, and there are AI-generated suggestions as to how you can improve your metabolic health.
The Meals and Glucose features are on the way to users of the Oura Ring Gen3 and Oura Ring 4 (curr. $349 at Amazon). They are currently only available to users based in the United States, with the Oura App language set to English. It is unclear when these new Oura Meals and Glucose tools will become available to more users.
