Oura and Dexcom have announced a partnership which will bring a new blood glucose monitoring solution to users of the smart ring. There are several existing integrations between the Oura app and companies that offer continuous glucose monitoring devices, such as January, Supersapiens (only in Europe), and Veri, a company recently acquired by Oura.
Dexcom claims to be the global leader in glucose biosensing with the most accurate technology. Its products include the Stelo and G7 wearable biosensors. The two-way integration between the Dexcom and Oura apps will allow users to combine their blood sugar data with the heart health, activity, sleep and stress data collected by the Oura Ring. This information will be used to help users understand how certain foods affect their health, showing links between sleep, exercise and glucose levels. The app will offer personalized insights and guidance based on the correlated data.
In the announcement, it was also revealed that Dexcom will invest $75 million as part of Oura’s Series D funding round. The initial app integration is expected to go live in the first half of 2025. For those wishing to buy a smart ring, it is worth noting that the Oura Ring Gen3 Horizon is currently available at a discounted price of $249 at Amazon.
