Garmin continues to plug away with what will eventually become a stacked stable update for the Enduro 3, Fenix E and Fenix 8 (curr. $1,099.99 on Amazon). Currently, the company has not publicly kept count of how many changes it has pushed through its Beta Program since the introduction of System Software 11.90 almost a month ago.
However, Beta Program participants are now eligible for their fifth v12.xx beta update since October 25, the first of which shipped with over 70 changes alone. By our count that number should now have reached 148, including the 15 that it has distributed as part of Beta Version 12.19. In short, the new beta can be broken down into three areas.
Ultimately, Beta Version 12.19 is another bug-fix-heavy update, with 11 of its 15 changes aimed at resolving issues that were present in earlier software. Arguably, one of the biggest improvements in this regard is all settings now applying correctly after restoring an Enduro 3, Fenix E or Fenix 8. Moreover, activities should no longer be accidentally saved when a device is powered down.
Beta Version 12.19 also adds Garmin's Reference Point app. On top of that, the update enables navigation turn guidance by default and is said to improve error messaging for the company's Outdoor Maps+ service. Furthermore, Garmin claims to have improved the timing of the active app indicator shown on watch faces. Please see Garmin's forum post and the image below for more details on Beta Version 12.19. Unfortunately, it still remains unclear at this stage when a new stable update will arrive.
