AliveCor has unveiled the KardiaMobile 6L Max portable electrocardiogram (ECG/EKG) for smartphones, designed for the early detection of heart problems.
The Max captures more useful data than smartwatches by using a 6-lead ECG setup that is easy to use. The device can detect a variety of situations where the heart is not beating correctly, including atrial fibrillation (AFib), bradycardia, tachycardia, and sinus rhythm with PVCs, SVE, and Wide QRS. This helps reduce frequent office visits for the full 12-lead ECG measurement, which is both time-consuming and costly.
The required KardiaCare subscription offers year-round analysis of ECGs, including reviews of new measurements by board-certified cardiologists when necessary to aid in the early detection of heart problems.
The KardiaMobile 6L Max uses a Bluetooth connection to generate an ECG reading in 30 seconds that the companion app can send to KardiaCare for analysis. The app runs on smartphones with Apple iOS 10.3.3+ or Android OS 6.0+. The portable ECG measures 9.0 x 3.0 x 0.72 cm (3.5 x 1.2 x 0.28 in.) and runs for a year on a replaceable lithium coin battery.
The KardiaMobile 6L Max is available from AliveCor for $169 and will be available soon from the AliveCor store on Amazon. Other models are also available such as the credit card-sized KardiaMobile for more convenient carrying.
Readers can understand how the modern diet has increased easily preventable deaths by reading this book on Amazon, as heart disease is the leading cause of death among Americans.
