Meizu has announced the Note 16 series smartphones in China. The company’s new midrange Note 16 series consists of the base Note 16 and the top-end Note 16 Pro variant. The Pro variant features a 144 Hz AMOLED display, a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 processor, a 50 MP primary camera, and a 6,200 mAh battery.

Meizu has officially unveiled its latest Note 16 series devices in China. Meizu’s latest Note 16 series midrange lineup consists of a base Note 16 and a high-end Note 16 Pro variant. The company packs a decent set of features into the Note 16 series for the price. The Note 16 Pro is powered by a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset paired with up to 16 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of storage.

For photography, the 5G-enabled device has a dual rear camera setup consisting of a 50 MP primary camera and an 8 MP ultrawide shooter. Upfront, it has an 8 MP selfie camera for selfies and video chats. The device sports a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 2750 x 1224 resolution, a 144 Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 1,600 nits. Additionally, the panel covers 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut and supports up to a 2,160 Hz instantaneous touch sampling rate.

Meizu packs a 6,200 mAh battery into the Note 16 Pro that supports 80 W wired charging. Unfortunately, there’s no wireless charging support here. As far as the colors are concerned, it comes in three color options: cloud white, light blue, and star gray. Dimensionally, the smartphone measures 8.4 mm (0.33 inch) in thickness and weighs around 197.5 grams (0.43 lbs). The rest of the highlights include an in-display fingerprint sensor, dual stereo speakers, IP68 water and dust resistance, WiFi 6, and Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity.

Speaking about the vanilla Note 16 variant, it features a Unisoc T8200 processor and a 6.78-inch FHD+ IPS LCD display with 120 Hz refresh rate support. Meizu packs a slightly larger battery into the base model, boasting a 6,600 mAh battery with 40 W wired charging support. The primary camera is the same as the Pro model, but the company has replaced an 8 MP shooter with a 2 MP depth sensor.

The Meizu Note 16 Pro starts at CNY 1,499 ($208) for the base 8 GB + 256 GB model, and the 16 GB + 512 GB maxed-out variant is priced at CNY 2,099 ($291). White, the vanilla Note 16 variant costs CNY 799 ($111) for the 8 GB + 128 GB trim. The Meizu Note 16 series open sales are scheduled on May 16 in China via Meizu’s online store.
