Casio's Japan-exclusive DW-5600KH24-1JR and DW-5600KHG24-1JR watches, which launched in January 2025, have seen a surprise restock in limited quantities across select Japanese retailers. This has happened after the models quickly sold out earlier this year, driven by strong demand.
The two watches are pretty special for their tribute to Japanese art and craftsmanship. The DW-5600KHK24-1JR features a custom LED backlight with a "Made in Japan" message and packaging adorned with Ukiyo-e style artwork, specifically inspired by Hokusai's famous Thirty-Six Views of Mount Fuji. The DW-5600KHG24-1JR, meanwhile, showcases a different traditional Japanese print motif and shares the same shock-resistant resin case, 20-bar water resistance, and LED display with backlight.
Both models were released at ¥17,600 (~$112). Though their design remains deeply rooted in Japanese culture, they feature standard DW-5600 specs, including a lightweight 52g body, full auto-calendar, countdown timer, stopwatch, and 145mm-205mm wrist size compatibility.
According to several watch blogs and community forums, the restock was not officially announced by Casio but quietly appeared on platforms such as Amazon Japan, Rakuten, and Yahoo Shopping. There's also a suggestion that limited units have appeared in physical stores, including some G-Shock outlets and regional watch shops across Japan.
Given that these models were never intended for global release and were tightly tied to Japan's domestic market, overseas availability will remain minimal outside of resale platforms. Those hoping to secure one at retail prices will likely need to act quickly, as listings are already disappearing.
