CIVI 3 to launch as first Xiaomi smartphone with 4K selfie camera
Xiaomi has revealed more details about the CIVI 3 in the lead-up to the device's release on May 25. To recap, the company has already confirmed that the CIVI 3 will be a showcase for the Dimensity 8200 Ultra, an unreleased MediaTek chipset. Subsequently, it outlined the device's four launch colours, three of which have dual-tone finishes.
Now, Xiaomi has detailed that the CIVI 3 will be its second smartphone to feature a TCL panel, after the Xiaomi 13 Ultra. According to the company, the CIVI 3 will launch with the TCL C6, presumably a less version of the TCL C7 in the Xiaomi 13 Ultra. Still, the CIVI 3 will deliver 1,200 nits peak brightness with a 120 Hz refresh rate.
Additionally, it will be Xiaomi's first smartphone capable of shooting selfies in 4K. For some reason, Xiaomi has held back from delivering a smartphone that can shoot selfie videos in 4K, even on something like the Xiaomi 13 Ultra. Potentially, the CIVI 3 has the same twin 32 MP front-facing sensors as its predecessor though, with a 78-degree FOV on one and a 100-degree FOV on the other. Moreover, Xiaomi has teased that the CIVI 3 will be particularly thin at light at 71.7 mm wide, 7.56 mm thick and 173.5 g before cases and screen protectors are factored in.
