Xiaomi CIVI 3 design, cameras, display and colour options revealed in new teasers
Xiaomi continues to tease the CIVI 3 on Weibo, where it announced the forthcoming handset last week. Initially, the company confirmed that the CIVI 3 would be the first device to use the Dimensity 8200 Ultra, which appears to feature the same CPU clock speeds as the regular Dimensity 8200. Now, Xiaomi has shared a teaser video of the device, embedded below.
While all other promotional materials show the back of the CIVI 3, the teaser video briefly reveals a familiar display. In short, it seems that the CIVI 3 carries over its predecessor's display, which has curved edges and a centred pill punch-hole for a pair of front-facing cameras. Arguably, the rear design of the CIVI 3 is similar to earlier models, with Xiaomi now freeing the circular camera housing from a rectangular layer that surrounded it previously.
The CIVI 3 will still offer three rear-facing cameras, though. The primary camera will continue to output at 50 MP, too. In other words, the CIVI 3 may well be another mid-cycle refresh like the CIVI 1S was. Xiaomi will launch the CIVI 3 in China on May 25 at 14:00 CST. So far, the company has confirmed that the CIVI 3 will be available in Adventure Gold, Coconut Grey, Mint Green and Rose Purple colourways. The company has not commented on a global release yet. However, the re-branding of the CIVI 2 as the Xiaomi 13 Lite suggests that the CIVI 3 could be available outside China as a future Xiaomi 14 Lite at some stage.
