iQOO Pad Air tipped to launch alongside Neo9 in late December 2023
iQOO has now confirmed that more of its mid-range gaming smartphones are on the way, that it will indeed have a distinctive two-tone finish. An official Neo9-series design showcases a rear panel split along the camera hump in contrasting shades, each of which is thought to have a different texture on top of that.
The resulting smartphone design will have a Pro variant, according to iQOO - although there will also be a vanilla Neo9 option, according to a new "Google Play Supported" database leak. Even more interestingly, it will allegedly be joined by an iQOO Pad Air on its launch.
The tablet is now rumored to have the model numbers DPD2305 and iPA2451, whereas the existing iQOO Pad is the DPD2307 or iPA2475. Judging by the name, its alleged new version will be the cheaper of the 2, and, thus, given iQOO's place within BBK Electronics, might emerge as a rebranded OPPO Pad Air 2/OnePlus Pad Go.
As for the Neo9 Pro, it is said to have the have the same MediaTek Dimensity 9300 processor as the Vivo X100 (and, possibly, OPPO Find X7), and has reportedly been spotted with the same SoC on the AnTuTu benchmark, outscoring its putative cousins in the process.
Therefore, iQOO just might back the Neo9 Pro to be the fastest smartphone with its chipset on its December 27, 2023 launch.
