iQOO India's announcement that something with the "power to win" is on the way has given rise to hopes that one of the brand's latest Neo8-series smartphones is destined to launch in the country soon. However, it is also possible that the new hype campaign references another Android device with a last-gen flagship chipset instead.

Not even 24 hours after iQOO's latest major product event in its native China, the brand's Indian division has started to tease a new mobile device launch of its own. However, those hoping for the surprisingly prompt arrival of the first-gen Pad, or the premium-grade Neo8 Pro, just might be disappointed.

In fact, rumor has it that the smartphone in question will be powered by the Qualcom Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC rather than the MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ - which means it could be the vanilla Neo8 instead. However, iQOO did launch the Neo7 Racing Edition with the same chipset in 2022.

That device never made it to India, a market that was left to make do with a regional edition of the Neo7 with a mid-range Dimensity chipset instead. Therefore, this new device that is, according to iQOO India's CEO Nipun Marya, "powering soon", is thought to be the Racing Edition re-branded to launch as a Neo7 Pro. If so, it may be sold through sites such as Amazon.in with a 120Hz display and 120W charging soon.
