AMD has announced the Radeon RX 7600, a US$269 mid-range graphics card designed for 1080p gaming. Based around the RDNA 3 architecture and with 32 CUDA cores, the Radeon RX 7600 is said to outperform the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 while offering modern features like AV1 encoding, DisplayPort 2.1 and HDMI 2.1.

AMD has introduced the Radeon RX 7600, its cheapest RDNA 3 desktop GPU to date. While the Navi 33-based graphics card will likely be seen as an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 competitor, AMD markets it as more of an RTX 3060 competitor, particularly at 1080p. Based on early tests, the Radeon RX 7600 also averages around 8% better performance than the outgoing Radeon RX 6650 XT.

For reference, while AMD advertises the Radeon RX 7600 as a graphics card for 1080p gaming, it should also be capable of reaching 1440p in less demanding titles or with FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) enabled. As expected, the Radeon RX 7600 relies on 32 Compute Units (CUs) and has a 165 W TGP. So far, AMD has only confirmed that its reference design will deliver boost and game clock speeds of 2,250 MHz and 2,655 MHz, respectively.

Additionally, the Radeon RX 7600 features 8 GB of GDDR6 VRAM operating at 18 Gbps on a 128-bit interface to deliver a 288 GB/s memory bandwidth. In other words, the Radeon RX 7600 matches the RTX 4060 in this regard. AMD also advertises the Radeon RX 7600 as supporting AV1 hardware encoding, as well as H.264 and HEVC encoding. Moreover, the graphics card will ship with DisplayPort 2.1 and HDMI 2.1 connectors for use with modern gaming monitors and Smart TVs. AMD will start selling its reference card on May 25 for US$269 in the US and €299 in the Eurozone. Please see AMD's website for more details.
