Affordable RTX 4050 and RX 7500 price and specifications leak alongside possible RX 7800, RX 7700/XT, and RX 7600 XT MSRPs
Although AMD and NVIDIA have launched the RX 7600 and the RTX 4060 Ti with the RTX 4060 on the way, many next-gen GPUs are still under wraps assuming both companies follow the already-established product lines. For instance, NVIDIA has yet to release the entry-level RTX 4050 whereas AMD is also expected to unveil the RX 7600 XT, the RX 7700/XT, and the RX 7800/XT. Paul from RedGamingTech has now reported the pricing information and possible specifications of many, presumably upcoming, RDNA 3 and RTX 40 boards.
According to the leaker, the RX 7800 packing 60 Compute Units (CU) and 16 GB of memory could retail for US$579. The RX 7700 XT will reportedly feature a cut-down VRAM buffer and fewer CU at 12 GB and 54 CU respectively. The GPU will supposedly have an MSRP of US$529. These specs for the RX 7700 XT are in line with the leaker’s previous report. Paul also shares the revised performance target for the RX 7800 XT as “a bit over the RTX 4070”.
Similarly, the CU count is expected to drop further to 48 for the RX 7700 while the memory capacity could remain the same at 12 GB. The RX 7700 MSRP is reportedly US$479, so US$20 cheaper than the upcoming RTX 4060 Ti 16 GB.
Additionally, Paul asserts that the RX 7600 XT could debut at US$399 with 40 CU and 12 GB of VRAM. Per the leaker, there is a possibility that the board is just the RX 7600 with 16 GB of memory mimicking NVIDIA’s strategy of announcing the RTX 4060 Ti in two memory configurations.
Finally, the entry-level RX 7500 is also allegedly scheduled to come in 8 GB and 6 GB variants for MSRPs of US$229 and US$199 respectively. Both SKUs could feature 28 CU.
On the NVIDIA side, Paul mentions that the RTX 4050, like the RX 7500, could also come in two flavors with the same 20 Stream Multiprocessors and 8/6 GB of VRAM. For reference, the RTX 4060 has 30 SM. The 6GB RTX 4050 MSRP is reportedly US$199 while the 8GB version could retail for US$249.
Before we wrap this up, it is important to remember that GPU prices can change quite abruptly. For instance, many reviewers complained that AMD communicated the RX 7600’s price change to US$269 a short time before reviews were to go live. So, take the prices shared by Paul as non-final as we will know for certain once the GPUs are official.
