AYA NEO NEXT II teased with 8-inch IPS display and 100 W cooling capacity
Last week, AYA NEO revealed a revised version of the AYA NEO 2S, one of its flagship gaming handhelds. It turns out that the company also teased the NEXT II again. For reference, AYA NEO debuted the NEXT II almost a year ago. Nonetheless, the core design of the NEXT II remains unchanged, with two touchpads placed beneath analog sticks and a left-orientated d-pad.
Undoubtedly, the NEXT II will draw comparisons with the Steam Deck on account of the former's touchpads. However, the details that AYA NEO have confirmed so far suggest that the NEXT II will be less portable than the Steam Deck. Ergonomics will also be different thanks to a more conventional button layout. Additionally, AYA NEO has confirmed that the NEXT II will feature an 8-inch IPS display, making it the largest gaming handheld the company has announced yet.
In fact, the NEXT II appears to be the start of a new product segment for AYA NEO, with the company indicating that it will eventually offer even larger devices. Currently, AYA NEO hopes to launch the NEXT II before the end of the year. The company is remaining quiet on other specifics for now, although it has outlined that the NEXT II will be available with a Ryzen 7000 APU and a discrete GPU, the combination of which will require a cooling capacity of approximately 100 W.
