Schenker Key 17 Pro (Early 23): High-end powerhouse with RTX 4090 and PCIe 5.0
The high-performance Key 17 Pro is targeted at creatives and gamers and relies on Raptor Lake and Ada Lovelace to deliver the required computing power. Our review unit as spec'd will set you back about €4,500 (US$4,826). But you can also configure the laptop to your liking on Schenker's online shop, with prices starting at €3,200 (US$3,432).
Boasting a Core i9-13900HX, a GeForce RTX 4090 Laptop and 32 GB of RAM (DDR5-5600 running in dual-channel mode), the Key 17 Pro is geared up for video editing, rendering and gaming. A lightning-fast PCIe 4.0 drive provides ample storage (2 TB) and helps ensure short load times. There is also space for up to three M.2-2280 SSDs (3x PCIe 4.0, 1x PCIe 5.0). The laptop produces a good amount of heat and noise, which is usual for this class of device. That said, it can also run quietly if you don't mind stepping down its performance.
The hardware inside allows games to run smoothly on the matt display. When gaming, you will generally be able to go for the display's full resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 and high to max settings. The Key 17 Pro can run in either Optimus or dGPU-only mode, with the latter capable of delivering a boost in graphics performance.
On a single charge, the battery (99 Wh) managed to keep the laptop running for roughly 7 hours in our Wi-Fi test – a very respectable result. So you don't necessarily have to carry the bulky 330-watt charger with you on the go. One of the two Thunderbolt 4 ports supports Power Delivery, meaning the battery can be charged using a USB-C power adapter.
