Particles by XO: Design and specifications leak for first Nothing sub-brand product
91mobiles and Kuba Wojciechowski have collaborated to leak Particles by XO, a pair of TWS earbuds apparently designed by Nothing’s first sub-brand. Seemingly, Particles by XO will be Nothing’s next pair of earbuds after the Nothing Ear (1) and the Nothing Ear Stick, with the Nothing Ear (2) yet to leak fully. While Particles by XO has an unusual design like Nothing products, it lacks its parent company’s distinctive translucent design.
Instead, it appears that the earbuds have a white plastic housing. However, XO has designed its first earbuds with a striking shape, as well as a circular charging case. The earbuds themselves are reminiscent of a peanut on initial impressions, but the circular shape of the charging case could prove uncomfortable when carried for a while in a pocket.
Additionally, each earbud has two microphones, presumably for active noise cancellation (ANC) and background noise reduction when making phone calls. According to 91mobiles, Particles by XO also supports LHDC, a low latency and high-definition Bluetooth codec that transmits audio at up to 24-bit, 900 kbit/s and 96 kHz. The website adds that the earbuds will reduce audio bitrate to between 400-560 kbit/s when experiencing sub-optimal Bluetooth signal strength. Unfortunately, neither 91mobiles nor Wojciechowski has shared pricing details or availability yet.
