Polar Ignite 3 Titanium smartwatch arrives with new skin temperature monitoring feature
The Polar Ignite 3 Titanium is now available, a premium version of the smartwatch released last year. The updated model brings several new features, which are also rolling out to older versions of the wearables; you can download the latest firmware update, 2.0.14, via FlowSync or the Flow app.
The new tools include Nightly Skin Temperature Sensing, which automatically tracks your temperature as you sleep and calculates an average. You can then detect changes which could indicate an oncoming illness or menstruation. A Work-Rest Guide can monitor your heart rate during your workout and advise when to resume exercise after a break, a feature that could be helpful for interval training. Another new feature is Boost from sleep, which estimates how your energy levels may be affected by your rest, with a Boost Score allowing comparison between days.
As with the regular Polar Ignite 3, you can track your exercise with over 150 sports activities, and Dual Frequency GPS for accurate route mapping. Further sleep analysis is possible via SleepWise, also available from the device’s dashboard. Polar claims this watch is up to twice as fast as its first and second-generation devices and has up to five days of battery life. Alongside the additional features, the Titanium model has a titanium bezel to sit alongside black silicon or bronze leather straps. You can now buy the Polar Ignite 3 Titanium smartwatch for US$329.95, £289 or €329.90. For context, the older model retailed for US$329.95 at launch.
