Nothing Phone (2): Pre-order start date officially confirmed as company reveals new design teasers

Nothing has now confirmed when pre-orders for the Phone (2) will start, nearly two months after the company started teasing the smartphone. In an email sent to subscribers, Nothing explained that pre-orders will commence on June 29, a full 12 days before it fully unveils the Phone (2). Nothing has not revealed pricing yet, although the Phone (2) may retail for a fair bit more than the Phone (1).

Instead, Nothing is allowing people to pay a refundable deposit, which can be redeemed against Phone (2) orders placed between July 11 and July 20. Additionally, those who participate in the pre-order offer will receive a 50% discount for a pair of Ear (stick) earbuds. The same discount applies to a Nothing accessories package; Nothing has not confirmed which accessories it will include in this bundle, though.

Meanwhile, Nothing continues to tease the design of the Phone (2), with Carl Pei seemingly denouncing renders that OnLeaks shared earlier this month. Having previously revealed the device's Glyph interface, Nothing briefly showed shots of the Phone (2) in which flat side rails, a centred hole punch camera and two rear-facing cameras can be seen. While the Phone (2) may resemble its predecessor, it should contain numerous changes from the Phone (1), including a more powerful Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset.
