Vivo X90s launches as refreshed Vivo X90 with new colour options and faster MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ chipset
Vivo has now launched the X90s in China, where it is available in four colours. As expected, the X90s succeeds the X90 and replaces the latter's Dimensity 9200 chipset with the newer Dimensity 9200+. In short, the Dimensity 9200+ is an overclocked version of the Dimensity 9200. According to MediaTek, the former pushes its ARM Cortex-X3, Cortex-A715 and Cortex-A510 CPU cores by another 300 MHz, 150 MHz and 200 MHz, respectively. Meanwhile, its ARM Immortalis-G715 GPU officially outperforms the equivalent in the Dimensity 9200 by 17%.
Seemingly, the X90s is unchanged in other areas, save for its new green and white colour options. Hence, the handset also has a 6.78-inch AMOLED display that resolves at 2,800 x 1,260 pixels with a 120 Hz refresh rate. Additionally, the X90s features a 50 MP primary camera with a 1/1.49-inch optical format, plus 12 MP ultra-wide-angle, 12 MP telephoto (2x optical) and 32 MP front-facing cameras. Like the X90, the X90s has a 4,810 mAh battery too that supports 120 W wired charging.
The X90s starts at CNY 3,999 (~US$553) in China with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. Alternatively, Vivo sells the handset with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB or 512 GB of storage for CNY 4,299 (~US$594) and CNY 4,699 (~US$650), respectively. As GSMArena notes, all memory configurations feature UFS 4.0 flash storage and LPDDR5X RAM, unlike the entry-level version of the X90. Vivo will begin selling the X90s in China on June 30; there is no word on international availability yet.
