Shiftcam launches ProGrip, a multifunction camera grip with wireless charging for smartphones
Shiftcam has created a new pro version of the SnapGrip we saw from the company in the first half of 2022. The new ProGrip takes neat features like wireless charging we saw on the SnapGrip but ramps things up in just about every area, including bringing new multifunctional capabilities that make it useful even when not shooting photos. While the company has a strong iPhone focus with its lenses and other gadgets, Shiftcam promises the ProGrip will work with all phones.
The main function of the ProGrip is to make taking a lot of photos with your smartphone easier, and more camera-like. In addition to a pro-style grip, the device also features a wireless shutter button for taking snaps. The company has also packed in a pair of AA Samsung rechargeable batteries that it says will allow users to shoot up to 3x more photos over a day than using the phone's built-in battery alone. It also incorporates a swivel that makes it easy to flip from portrait to landscape shots and back again.
As an added bonus, when not being used as a camera grip, it converts into a wireless charging desktop dock making a hand accompaniment for taking and making video calls. The swivel function also allows users to use it in landscape mode for watching movies or even for hands-free vlogging. As you would expect, the ProGrip is compatible with a wide range of accessories sold by Shiftcam including tripods, cold shoes, LED lights, and its range of external ProLenses.
The Shiftcam ProGrip Starter Kit is retailing from $149.
