ShiftCam has announced SnapGrip, an accessory for the iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 series that turns Apple's recent smartphones into an ergonomic compact camera. SnapGrip works using MagSafe, which also allows it to recharge the iPhone to which it is connected.

ShiftCam has unveiled SnapGrip, a camera grip for MagSafe-compatible iPhones. Due to launch on Kickstarter later this year, the SnapGrip will be available in multiple colours and with various accessories. Unfortunately, ShiftCam has not confirmed how much the SnapGrip will cost, nor when it hopes to begin shipping the accessory.

Since the SnapGrip is MagSafe-compatible, it will work with the iPhone 12 mini through iPhone 13 Pro Max. For reference, ShiftCam also created the ProGrip and the RevolCam, among others. As ShiftCam's promotional images show, the SnapGrip features a camera shutter button and a built-in battery. ShiftCam has not shared battery life details yet, while the accessory provides functions with a paired iPhone over Bluetooth, not MagSafe.

Incidentally, it will be possible to use the SnapGrip in portrait and landscape modes, allowing you to take selfies using the accessory too. Currently, ShiftCam intends to sell a Tripod Mount and a Selfie Stick Mount as well, which it refers to as the SnapPod. Based on the company's website, the SnapPod is compatible with the SnapGrip, along with the SnapLight, a flippable LED ring light. ShiftCam plans to offer all accessories in Blue, Champagne, Charcoal, Coral and Navy colourways.
