ESR's latest iPhone accessory is a wireless power bank designed to 'stick' to the back of one of its compatible devices, even while it is in use, thanks to the OEM's in-house HaloLock system. Then again, the user can also put their 12- or 13-series down to watch something at an angle with the new mini power bank, and also charge something else using the gadget's USB type-C port.

ESR's latest accessory with its HaloLock technology is a power bank of the type that can leverage a newer iPhone's MagSafe wireless charging coil for a stronger magnetic, cable-free connection. However, this take on the emerging category also incorporates a fold-away kickstand.

Therefore, an iPhone 13- or 12-series user can set their device down at an angle for "on-demand" content consumption while the new HaloLock mini provides it with up to 7.5 watts (W) of convenient wire-free power. ESR asserts that its magnetic system is strong enough to do this in either portrait or landscape mode.

Then again, it is also still of the type that can be picked up and carried around on the back of the flagship device in question. With a capacity of 5,000mAh, the new HaloLock power bank is mini indeed; in addition, there is no mention of the new CryoBoost tech in this product, and it has a type-C port found jutting out from its side rather than lining up with the Lightning port.

This added source of power is rated for just 12W, moreover. The HaloLock mini kickstand wireless power bank is priced at US$45.99 on ESRGear.com, although one could try the back to school season sale code BACK20 for a shot at a 20% discount at the moment. It has also been released to Amazon, albeit only to UK and EU sites thus far, starting at £46.99 and €46.99 respectively.
