The SuperCam from Harbor Dynamics two-in-one device is crowdfunding on Kickstarter. The gadget combines a security camera with a power bank. The company claims the device is incredibly discreet, suggesting you could use it to monitor your front door or living space to detect intruders.
The 1080p camera has a 135° wide viewing angle and can be used to capture video, pictures and sound. A night vision mode allows the camera to record footage in low lighting, and the gadget can send you notifications when it detects motion. The SuperCam has an 81.4 Wh 22,000 mAh battery, allowing it to capture video for up to 60 hours continuously. Video footage recorded on the camera is automatically shared with your smartphone, or you can choose to store the videos locally with a 64 GB SD card.
As a power bank, the gadget has a maximum total output of 140 W. Two USB-C ports can supply 100 W and 65W to connected devices, plus a 22 W USB-A and 10 W wireless charging pad are built into the device. The battery capacity allows the gadget to charge a MacBook Pro 13-in 1.4 times or an iPhone 12 7.5 times. You can fully recharge the battery in 60 minutes. The portable device measures 184.5 x 85 x 25 mm (~7.26 x 3.35 x 1-in) and weighs 580 g (~1.28 lbs).
You can currently receive the SuperCam security camera power bank when you pledge US$99 to the Kickstarter campaign. The company only ships to certain countries, including the US, Canada, the UK, Australia and the Netherlands, with deliveries estimated for October.
