Anker 621 Magnetic Battery 5000mAh launches as lightweight MagSafe powerbank for iPhone
The Anker 621 Magnetic Battery (MagGo) 5000mAh has been released in the US. The gadget has a maximum power output of 7.5 W and is compatible with the latest iPhone models, including the iPhone 13 and the iPhone 12. It is unclear exactly how long it takes to fully charge a phone with the portable power bank, though an iPhone 13 is likely to need over three hours.
Anker suggests that its new MiniCell technology has helped it to make the device one of its most compact, measuring 4.13 x 2.62 x 0.45-in (~105 x 67 x 11 mm) and weighing 5 oz (~142 g). The company claims that even with the power pack attached to the back of your phone, you should still be able to carry it in your pocket.
Plus, Anker indicates that strong 10 N 2.2 lb magnets have been used in the 621 to prevent it from detaching from your iPhone and ensuring it stays in the correct position to maintain charging. The portable power pack comes with a 23.6-in (~60 cm) USB-C to USB-C cable, which you can use to recharge the device.
You can buy the Anker 621 Magnetic Battery (MagGo) 5000mAh in the US for US$49.99, with delivery expected in early September. Product listings on Amazon UK, Amazon Canada and Amazon Netherlands have also been spotted, though it is unclear when the gadget will launch in these markets.
