Xiaomi Mi Projector 2S announced with 120-in image, gaming mode and Dolby Audio support
Xiaomi has announced the Mi Projector 2S, which will begin crowdfunding in China on August 10. The device has up to 850 ANSI Lumens brightness and a 1080P resolution. The projector can throw images from 60-in to 120-in wide, with a 1.2 throw ratio.
The Mi Projector 2S is powered by a flagship chip, the 1.9 GHz Amlogic T982. AI image quality enhancement ensures the picture has true colors, and MEMC motion compensation technology allows a smooth moving image. Two 10 W built-in full frequency speakers are optimized for sounds as quiet as 28 dBA, with support for Dolby Audio and DTS-HD technologies.
You can cast to the projector from your smartphone or laptop via 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi or Bluetooth 5.0. Plus, you can connect a games console via an HDMI 2.1 port, and a gaming mode provides 40 ms latency. Other ports on the device include a USB 2.0 port and a 3.5 mm audio jack. Intelligent image correction will automatically straighten the projected image, and auto-focus will ensure the projection is sharp.
The Mi Projector 2S is compatible with the Xiaomi Mijia app and can be controlled via Xiao AI voice commands. The gadget measures 220 x 200 x 128 mm (~8.7 x 7.9 x 5.0-in) and comes in white. Customers in China will be able to buy the Xiaomi Mi Projector 2S for 3,199 yuan (~US$474). Shipping is expected to begin on August 24, and the gadget is expected to retail for 3,499 yuan (~US$518) in the future.
