ESR found itself inadvertently caught up in one of the new iPhone 14 Plus' most definitive leaks ahead of its launch, with hints at a new feature from this accessory OEM called Krystec. Now, with the debut of its latest 14-series cases, the company has confirmed that it exists and explains what it does.
Krystec, as it turns out, is a new form of polycarbonate "innovatively engineered" to avoid the discoloration that is so often a drawback of clear cases. ESR asserts that its new cases with this tech will in fact never acquire so much as a hint of a yellow tinge during the working life of the freshly-ordered unit in question.
Krystec has been unleashed in ESR Clear Cases with and without HaloLock, starting at US$24.99 and $29.99 respectively. Alternatively, the OEM has another new feature for those more concerned for those camera humps that seem to want to be telescopes more than ever in 2022, particularly in the triple-lensed Pro variants.
ESR's Classic Kickstand cases upgrade to a new Camera Guard, a "highly-adjustable zinc-alloy" frame for Apple's signature rear camera islands built into the rest of the case via a little hinge with "military-grade durability". It allows the Guard to convert into a prop for potentially improved hands-free iPhone content consumption.
Again, they are available with and without the HaloLock ring, priced at US$27.99 to $32.99. The entire new 14-series range has been released to ESRGear.com thus far, with availability via Amazon to follow.
Meanwhile, the OEM's Air Armor case for the iPhone 13 Pro series, which has a Camera Guard but not one that flips out, is available for US$15.99.
