After months of relentless leaks, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 is official with a design that has remained largely unchanged. The device is IPX8 certified, boasts the latest Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, and comes with 12 GB LPDDR5 memory with up to 1 TB of UFS 3.1 storage.

Samsung has revealed the Galaxy Z Fold4 with updated specifications and all-around improvements at Galaxy Unpacked August 2022. The design of the Galaxy Z Fold4 is quite similar to the Galaxy Z Fold3 with a 6.2 inches outer display and a 7.6 inches internal display. Other design tidbits include Armor Aluminum for the sides and Gorilla Glass Victus for the back.

Moving on, the outer Dynamic AMOLED display has a resolution of 2316 x 904 pixels and an aspect ratio of 23.1:9. The screen is capable of adjusting the refresh rate on the fly between 48 and 120 Hz. The inner display is also a Dynamic AMOLED panel with a resolution of 2176 x 1812 pixels (QXGA+) and an aspect ratio of 21.6:18. Like the outer panel, the inner screen also has an adaptive refresh rate that can change between 1 and 120 Hz.

There are a total of five cameras on the Galaxy Z Fold4, three on the back, one on the inner display, and one on the outer. The shooter on the outer display is 10 MP with an F2.2 aperture and a pixel size of 1.22 μm. The one on the inner display is a 4 MP Under Display Camera with an F1.8 aperture, and 2.0 μm pixels.

The triple camera setup on the back consists of a 12 MP ultra-wide, a 50 MP wide, and a 10 MP telephoto lens. The ultra-wide shooter has a FOV of 123°, an f-stop of F2.2, and 1.12 μm-sized pixels. The 50 MP main sensor has Dual Pixel autofocus, OIS, and an F1.8 aperture. Finally, the telephoto snapper comes in at 10 MP with an f-stop rating of F2.4. There is also an OIS for steadier zoom shots.

Just like the Galaxy Z Flip4, the Z Fold4 features a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 with 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256/512 GB of storage. A 4,400 mAh battery keeps the show running. When it comes the time to charge, you can top up the battery at up to 25 W with a wired fast charger that Samsung sells separately. Wireless charging and Wireless PowerShare also make a return.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 will start shipping August 25. The version with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage will cost €1,799 (US$1,800). The version with the 512 GB storage will run you back €1,919. Finally, a 1 TB online-only model will cost an eye-watering €2,149.
