Rumor | Samsung W23 and W23 Flip will launch soon as the China Telecom versions of the Galaxy Z Fold4 and Flip4
China Telecom is thought to have new foldable smartphones to release through its carrier store soon. They may have the same specs as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 and Z Flip4, although they may stand to gain complete re-brands in terms of their looks and product names.
The reliable leaker Ice Universe has uploaded possible evidence of a successor to the Galaxy W22, to be accompanied by a "W23 Flip" ostensibly based on the Flip4 in 2022. Accordingly, the former might not be all that different from its predecessor in truth - except for its updated Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 platform, of course.
Then again, the "W23" and its clamshell sibling seems to be in line for a change to their rear-panel finishes: there may be more gold hinges this time around, although their China Telecom rear-panel logos might switch to red, with the addition of a gold camera hump in the larger model as well.
Should the "W23 and W23 Flip" truly launch soon, they are unlikely to deviate much from the W22 5G in terms of price. That foldable phablet commanded a price of no less than 16,999 yuan - ~US$2,640 at the time of its launch.
Then again, it was a top-end SKU, at least, with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage; a putative successor may stand to do at least as well in this regard.
