OnePlus 12 shown in new render images with revised design and new camera arrangement
Leaker @OnLeaks has partnered with MySmartPrice to share updated renders of the OnePlus 12, nearly two months after the former claimed to have revealed the design of OnePlus' next flagship. Writing on Twitter, @OnLeaks has clarified:
...it appears #OnePlus tweaked the rear camera configuration and today, I'm back with updated renders which have been made based on pre-production unit pictures.
As far as we can tell, there are three design changes from July's renders. On the one hand, the OnePlus 12 now has a more curved display, presumably to give people the impression that it has thinner bezels when looking at the display straight on. On the other hand, @OnLeaks asserts that OnePlus has added a fourth rear-facing camera, eschewing the periscope camera motif that previous renders included.
Purportedly, the OnePlus 12 will still launch with a periscope camera, albeit one that OnePlus has positioned behind a circular protective lens. Details about the new fourth camera are unknown for now. Potentially, this could be a LiDAR sensor or a laser autofocus, but this is only speculation on our part,
Moreover, OnePlus has simplified the Hasselblad branding on the OnePlus 12's camera housing, condensing it to just 'H'. All other rumoured areas remain unchanged though, such as a December 2023 release date in China, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, a large 120 Hz QHD display and a 5,000 mAh battery that supports 120 W wired charging.
