Google presents new Android logo and new features headed to all devices
Google has announced a new Android logo in time for the launch of Android 14. Firstly, Google has now written Android with a capital 'A', ditching the stylised 'android' that it has used previously. The stylistic change is joined by a modernised font, although Google has not provided a name for now.
At any rate, Google has also revised the Android character, which has received a new 3D model. In a blog post, the company states that the change gives 'bugdroid' 'more dimension, and a lot more character' that is 'dynamic as Android itself'. Correspondingly, Google has created numerous bugdroid variants, including one styled as a disco ball or jelly that slowly melts.
Moreover, Google has presented several new features that it will soon distribute through updates to its countless apps and services. For example, Google has finally brought its 'At a Glance' widget to all Android smartphones, which was a Pixel exclusive until now. In short, the widget provides various information points on your home screen, such as calendar entries, weather and Google Home notifications. Elsewhere, Google Wallet now supports a feature that allows you to import photos of tickets; please see Google's blog post and video below for more details.
