Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro to retail for over 20% more in Europe than outgoing Pixel 7 or Pixel 7 Pro
Leaker @billbil_kun has shared European prices for the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, less than a week after The Tech Outlook claimed to have done so itself. For reference, the former disputes the latter's information and went as far as to write that the alleged 'prices are totally wrong'. Regardless, @billbil_kun suggests that the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro will cost significantly more than other Pixel bar the Pixel Fold, with Google holding off from making price increases between the Pixel 6 and Pixel 7 series.
Allegedly, the Pixel 8 series will start at €799 for the Pixel 8 with 128 GB of storage, a €150 and 23% uplift from its predecessor. This price gap will not exist for all Pixel 8 series SKUs, though. For example, the 256 GB version of the Pixel 8 is said to cost €859, €110 and 14% more than the equivalent Pixel 7. Meanwhile, expect to pay at least €1,099 for the Pixel 8 Pro, for which Google will only include 128 GB of storage.
Alternatively, this year's Pro model is rumoured to retail for €1,159 if you opt for the 256 GB variant and €1,299 for the series-topping 512 GB SKU. @billbil_kun adds that third-party retailers will only sell the latter in black, with Google reserving additional colours for its web store. The Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro are expected to debut on October 4 alongside the Pixel Watch 2. Presumably, Google will offer various pre-order deals for all its new Pixel products at launch, although it remains to be seen what form these will take for now.
