Google confirms date of presumed Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro and Pixel Watch 2 launch event
Google has now sent out invites for its next Made by Google event, less than a day after Apple did the same for its 'Wonderlust' special event. While Apple's event will occur on September 12, Google has notified people 35 days ahead of schedule. Thus, this year's event will occur two days before the anniversary of the Pixel Watch, Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro's launch event.
As always, Google has not outlined which devices it intends to reveal. With that said, it has confirmed that it will use October 4 to 'introduce the latest additions' to its Pixel product stack. In other words, October 4 is when it will unveil new Pixel devices. Based on various rumours, Google will focus on the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, which have leaked numerous times in the last few months.
Incidentally, an official shot of the Pixel 8 Pro was spotted on the Google Store earlier today, confirming that the device will soon be available in a new Porcelain colour option. Also, the same photo provided the briefest look at a Pixel Watch, likely the second-generation model. As it stands, Google is only rumoured to have prepared these three devices. However, we would not be surprised if the company had developed a new pair of Pixel Buds earbuds, with earlier generations joining flagship Pixel releases in recent years.
