Huawei Watch GT 4: Company shares launch event teaser with two designs shown
Huawei has confirmed its intentions to release a new flagship smartwatch later this month. Writing on Twitter, the company has outlined that it will present a next-generation Watch GT on September 14, two days after Apple's launch event where it is expected to introduce the Watch Series 10 and Watch Ultra 2. For reference, the September 12 'Wonderlust' event should also be where Apple presents the iPhone 15 series, which is rumoured to consist of the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.
As for Huawei, it seems that it has prepared two versions of a new Watch GT that it will market under the same series name. Based on various rumours, Huawei has developed successors to the Watch GT 3 that it will market as the Watch GT 4 rather than something more esoteric like the Watch GT Cyber. Reportedly, Huawei has created AR-B19 and PNX-B19, which run HarmonyOS 4 and support Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity.
Little else is known about the presumed Watch GT 4 series yet. With that said, Huawei's teaser shows that its new smartwatches will be somewhat of a departure from the look of the current Watch GT 3 series, arguably while leaning more into conventional wristwatch designs. Although Huawei has only confirmed that it will showcase its 'fashion forward' smartwatches in Barcelona for now, we imagine that it will also live stream its in-person event online, likely on YouTube.
