Samsung refreshes Galaxy Watch6 series again with Galaxy Watch6 Classic Astro Edition
Samsung is now offering a new version of the Galaxy Watch6 Classic in some markets. To recap, Samsung debuted the Galaxy Watch6 series last month alongside the Galaxy Z Flip5 and Galaxy Z Fold5. Shortly after their release, the company presented the Galaxy Watch6 Classic Golf Edition, a South Korean exclusive for now that contained a few design and software tweaks from the regular Galaxy Watch6 Classic.
Similarly, the Galaxy Watch6 Classic Astro Edition has an engraved bezel and an exclusive dial to distinguish it from other Galaxy Watch6 models. According to Samsung, the Galaxy Watch6 Classic Astro Edition draws inspiration from the astrolabe, an ancient astronomical instrument used to calculate the positions of celestial bodies. Additionally, Samsung claims to have released the Astro Edition to celebrate the contributions of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) to both astronomy and mathematics.
As the video below shows, the Astro Edition's exclusive dial contains two complications, one that serves as a compass and another for monitoring the positions of the sun and moon, as well as sunrise and sunset. Moreover, Samsung has adorned the second hand with a crescent moon. The Galaxy Watch6 Astro Edition retails for AED 1,999 (~US$544) and comes with various accessories, including two limited edition fabric straps. While Samsung has no plans to offer the smartwatch globally, it will be available across MENA countries, such as Algeria, Morocco, Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
