Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE: Battery capacity, charging speed, colours and memory configurations leak for new Fan Edition tablets
MySmartPrice has discovered new details about the Tab S9 FE Plus, one-half of the Galaxy Tab S9 FE series. For reference, while Samsung has not mentioned any new 'FE' branded tablets yet, ample evidence that the company has developed Tab S9 FE and Tab S9 FE plus models have emerged in the last few weeks. Most recently, the FCC published initial documentation for the smaller Galaxy Tab S9 FE, which Roland Quandt then followed by leaking Indian pricing for the same tablet with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage.
Now, Thailand's National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) has linked the larger Galaxy Tab S9 FE Plus to the model number SM-X616B, which surfaced earlier this year on Geekbench. Meanwhile, the Korean Testing Laboratory (KTL) has listed the SM-X616B as featuring a 9,800 mAh battery that it can recharge at 10 V DC/4.5 A. Thus, it appears that the Galaxy Tab S9 FE Plus will support 45 W wired charging, matching recent Galaxy Tab tablets, including the Galaxy Tab S7 FE.
However, this also means that the Galaxy Tab S9 FE Plus has a 2.8% smaller battery capacity than the Galaxy Tab S7 FE, Galaxy Tab S8 Plus and Galaxy Tab S9 Plus, which all feature 10,090 mAh batteries. The inclusion of an Exynos 1380 chipset may allow the Galaxy Tab S9 FE Plus to offer better battery life than its direct predecessor though, as well as superior performance thanks to its chipset's narrower manufacturing process coupled with improved CPU and GPU performance.
Separately, Samsung's Hungarian website has outlined initial release colours and memory configurations for both Tab S9 FE models. Although the company has since removed these listings, they showed that both models would be available in Graphite, Lavender, Mint and Silver colour options, all with 8 GB RAM/128 GB of storage or 12 GB RAM/256 GB storage configurations. Reportedly, the Galaxy Tab S9 FE series will arrive this autumn. Based on earlier leaks, the Tab S9 FE and Tab S9 FE Plus will serve as cheaper alternatives to the Tab S9 and Tab S9 FE Plus, with display sizes to match.
