Samsung Galaxy Watch6: Reports mount of new quick-release watch bands already developing faults
While the Galaxy Watch6 series may seem like an iterative change over its predecessor, Samsung also introduced a new quick-change system watch band system that went under the radar. Theoretically, the solution is rather clever. On the one hand, Samsung's new watch band system maintains compatibility for existing models.
On the other hand, Samsung has integrated a button that moves away from the conventional pin system that persists across quick-release watch bands. Arguably, Samsung's watch band system is reminiscent of Apple's, albeit with larger buttons that should be easier to activate. However, Samsung's placement appears to be causing issues for some Galaxy Watch6 owners though and an outright failure for YouTuber Mr Mobile.
For reference, Samsung has positioned its release buttons within its watch straps rather than on the smartwatch itself, as Apple has since its first smartwatch. Apparently, the pressure applied by wrist bones can cause Samsung's watch bands to detach. For now, it seems that reports of watch bands failing are minimal, although Mr Mobile notes that his affected Galaxy Watch6 Classic unit would not accept bands after it failed, which also applied to the smartwatch with a new watch band.
Damn, I was hoping the issue on my review sample was the result of a bad unit.

Glad I reported on it anyway though. It's too easy to buy the explanation of "oh, seems like you got a bad sample."
Hope Samsung fixes this before watches start popping off wrists. https://t.co/7Ko5OtapY9 pic.twitter.com/g9m85Dzns4
