Xiaomi Watch S2 Pro said to launch under Xiaomi Watch 2 Pro moniker as official images leak
MySmartPrice has revealed a first look at a forthcoming Xiaomi smartwatch. According to the website, Xiaomi intends to offer the smartwatch as the 'Watch 2 Pro', not the Watch S2 Pro, as earlier leaks suggested. Considering that MySmartPrice has not provided any evidence to support its claim that the smartwatch will arrive as the Watch 2 Pro, we would not rule it appearing as the Watch S2 Pro at some stage.
Regardless, MySmartPrice has shown the smartwatch in two styles, both with the same overall design. Specifically, Xiaomi has included a digital crown flanked by two physical buttons, all on the smartwatch's right-hand side. Purportedly, the Watch 2 Pro relies on a stainless steel case as well, which is said to protect a 1.43-inch AMOLED display. Thus, the smartwatch will support always-on display functionality, for which Xiaomi has designed exclusive watch faces.
Moreover, Xiaomi has equipped the Watch 2 Pro with a textured bezel. However, the inclusion of a digital crown implies that the former is only there for aesthetics rather than to serve a practical purpose, like on the Galaxy Watch6 Classic. Currently, MySmartPrice expects Xiaomi to launch the Watch 2 Pro at the end of October for roughly €400. Unfortunately, it remains to be seen whether this will be a Europe-specific release or a global one.
