Motorola Edge 40 Neo: New leak seems to confirm 5G and fast Wi-Fi for upcoming mid-range smartphone
The Edge 40 Neo is thought to land with most of the same specs as the Edge (2022) for the US market later this year, albeit with a new Pantone-licensed finish and camera hump. Now, an FCC listing for Motorola's next new smartphone might just confirm this state of affairs. It approves the "XT-2307-1" to use Wi-Fi ax, which might thus emerge as the tri-band Wi-Fi 6E of the pre-existing mid-ranger.
The XT-2307-1 has also been cleared to use 5G, LE Bluetooth and NFC - again, just like the Edge (2022). Then again, this new leak corroborates an earlier tip that hints at 68W Turbo Charging - which would be an upgrade on the older smartphone's 30W rate.
Accordingly, it seems that the 40 Neo is indeed a partial Edge (2022) re-brand for markets such as India, and will thus debut with the relatively low-end Dimensity 1050 SoC. Despite this, however, it is thought to land in that market in mid-September 2023 at a price of INR ~35,900 (~US$432).
Then again, that is not a lot less than the approximate starting price as the Edge 40 with the slightly faster Dimensity 8020 and 8GB of RAM. It is, furthermore, now discounted by 14% right now in Viva Magenta on Amazon.in.
