New Motorola Edge 40 leak showcases unreleased smartphone in four colours
Roland Quandt has shared high quality renders of the Edge 40 in four colours, expanded upon the two that @OnLeaks and The Tech Outlook leaked last week. Based on the latter's leak, the colours shown below are the four in which Motorola plans to offer the Edge 40 at launch. Incidentally, the Edge 40 will see Motorola returning to its Pantone partnership, which it last used in December by re-releasing the Edge 30 Fusion.
Motorola will also continue to use Pantone's 2023 colour of the year, which it calls 'Viva Magenta'. Accordingly, Motorola will include Pantone branding beneath its logo. Additionally, Viva Magenta will retain its vegan leather finish, which will be available in Eclipse Black and Nebula Green hues too. For some reason, the light blue colour option, rumoured to be sold as Lunar Blue, will lack a vegan leather finish.
Instead, this version will feature an acrylic back panel, which appears to have a satin finish. Currently, the Edge 40 is expected to rely on the MediaTek Dimensity 8020 chipset, LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 3.1 flash storage, regardless of the colour option chosen. Furthermore, the handset is rumoured to contain a 4,400 mAh battery that supports 68 W fast charging, as well as a 1080p display and a 144 Hz refresh rate, among other features.
