Xiaomi re-releases the Redmi Note 10 Pro under Redmi Note 12 Pro 4G as new mid-range smartphone
Xiaomi has revealed the Redmi Note 12 Pro 4G in Greece, just a few days after showcasing the handset in Malaysia and Turkey. Effectively, the Redmi Note 12 Pro 4G is a re-branded Redmi Note 10 Pro, which Kacper Skrzypek discussed earlier this month. As such, the Redmi Note 12 Pro 4G relies on the Snapdragon 732G, an 8 nm chipset that Xiaomi also uses in the Mi 11 Lite and the POCO X3 NFC.
For reference, the Redmi Note 12 Pro 4G measures 164.2 x 76.1 x 8.1 mm and weighs 201.8 g. Additionally, the device has a 6.67-inch AMOLED display that operates at 1080p, 120 Hz and with 1,100 nits quoted peak brightness. Moreover, the Redmi Note 12 Pro 4G has the same 108 MP primary, 8 MP ultra-wide-angle, 2 MP depth and 16 MP front-facing cameras as the Redmi Note 10 Pro. However, Xiaomi has swapped the 5 MP macro camera for a 2 MP sensor.
Furthermore, the Redmi Note 12 Pro 4G ships with Android 11 based on MIUI 13, unlike the also new Redmi Note 12S. Worse still, Xiaomi has already distributed Android 13 and MIUI 14 to the Redmi Note 10 Pro. In fact, the Redmi Note 12 Pro 4G only contains a single upgrade over the Redmi Note 10 Pro. Specifically, the Redmi Note 12 Pro 4G can recharge its 5,000 mAh battery at 67 W, roughly double the 33 W of which the Redmi Note 10 Pro is capable. The Redmi Note 12 Pro 4G will be available in Europe for €329.
