Vivo X Fold2 tipped to launch as world's first 120W charging foldable smartphone
Vivo has already previewed the X Fold2 ahead of its upcoming launch, asserting that it is an even more premium, elegant flexible-display smartphone than its already quite advanced first-gen predecessor. Now, it is also tipped to have the faster charging battery of the 2.
Its maker's 3C certification of a device with up to 20V/6A (or 120W) charging has led to speculation that it is the X Fold2, popping up with an unprecedented spec in a last-minute launch.
This is mostly because it has allegedly registered as the V2266A: a model number very similar to the new Vivo device spotted posting top scores in a benchmarking leak thanks to high-end internals such as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC.
Accordingly, the X Fold2 is now believed to be a foldable that finally bridges the gap with both the latest top-end silicon and charging tech: more like a 'normal' flagship smartphone than ever before, in other words.
It is also currently slated to be about 10% lighter than its predecessor, yet pack a 50MP Sony IMX866 sensor as a main camera, just like some of Vivo's conventional premium smartphones.
