Meizu first-gen foldable smartphone tipped to pack a 200MP main camera
Not only is Meizu back in the premium Android game, it is now believed to challenge top-end rivals such as Xiaomi with a step up to foldable devices. The first-gen smartphone in question is thought to launch as the “20 Fold” and, thus, as the brand’s ultimate flagship for the year of 2023.
The 20 series of smartphones have debuted with up to 50MP main cameras so far – however, their supposed foldable alternative is tipped to have a 200MP main shooter. Should that new WHYLAB leak prove accurate, it would represent a particularly significant coup for Meizu, particularly as Samsung allegedly has no intention of upgrading even the Galaxy Z Fold4’s successor to that extent.
The “Meizu 20 Fold” is linked to the ISOCELL HP1 sensor for this purpose, and not the newer HP2 of the Galaxy S23 Ultra. Nevertheless, it is projected to bring a number of its best features, "Double Super PD Focus" and 4- to 16-pixel binning for high-resolution stills included, to the Geely subsidiary’s rumored first-gen foldable.
