Vivo's next foldable Android smartphone is tipped to launch as the X Flip, the OEM's first device with a modern-day clamshell form factor. Its latest leak hints at a first-gen product with the potential to challenge class leaders such as the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4 with a high-refresh-rate main display, as well as a postentially larger cover display.

The putative X Flip is predicted to have a 682p secondary display that could be around the same size and shape as that of the OPPO Find N2 Flip, albeit in the opposite (landscape) orientation relative to its hinge. According to the allegedly upcoming clamshell's latest leak, Vivo may be just as potentially generous with its main folding display.

The prolific leaker Digital Chat Station describes a device with a main screen of 6.8 inches in diagonal length with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1-driven 120Hz/FHD+ display (like that of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4) and a center-mounted punch-hole selfie camera.

DCS did not mention that shooter's resolution, although the X Flip is now expected to ship with a 12MP Sony IMX663 paired to a newer IMX866 in a round dual rear camera hump, found next to its aforementioned cover display.

The Vivo X series' alleged inaugural Flip is also now tipped to launch with a relatively large 4,400mAh battery that charges at the same 44W rate of its possible OPPO counterpart. Then again, the OEM in question has yet to drop so much as the first hint of a new addition to its foldable range.
